The Challenge

What they needed

This tuition-free, accredited online university had strong programs but a fractured presence in AI search. It was frequently confused with an unrelated company that shared part of its name, its Wikidata entry listed the wrong city, Wikipedia understated enrollment by more than half and omitted an entire program, and directories described it as a paid bootcamp instead of a free, accredited university. The site itself carried no structured data, so AI engines had nothing machine-readable to build an accurate answer from.

  • Confused with an unrelated company due to a similar name
  • Wikidata and Wikipedia listed the wrong location and enrollment figures
  • Described as a paid bootcamp in third-party directories, not a free university
  • No structured data on the site for AI engines to cite
Our Solution

How we fixed it

We treated this as an entity problem, not a keyword problem: making the university the single, unambiguous, well-sourced authority on itself, in both the prose people read and the structured data machines cite. That meant a canonical entity page that clearly separates it from the unrelated company sharing part of its name, a full JSON-LD structured data package where none existed before, sourced answers to the two questions that decide enrollment (is it really free, is it accredited), a citation-led correction plan for Wikipedia and Wikidata, and a 16-prompt GEO measurement system run monthly across ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, and Perplexity, so results are measured, not asserted.

  • Canonical entity page disambiguating the university from an unrelated, similarly named company
  • Full JSON-LD structured data package: EducationalOrganization, per-program Course markup, FAQPage, and a Facts & Figures dataset
  • Sourced trust content answering the two questions that decide enrollment: is it free, is it accredited
  • Citation-led correction plan for Wikipedia, Wikidata, and directory listings
  • Monthly GEO measurement: a 16-prompt baseline scored across ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, and Perplexity
  • Metadata fixes across priority pages to close snippet gaps suppressing click-through
